The Sony Xperia Z3 Is One Of My Favorite Smartphones So I Was Looking Forward To Spending Time With The Covenant Z3 Xperia Tablet.
Sony has taken many elements of Z3 stylish design and brought to eight inches Android tablet. It's thin light waterprooof focused on audio and video experience optimized for PS4 game and one of the best Android tablets that you can find today. This is a Mini-IPad competitor and worth considering if you want an Android tablet.

The Z3 Compact Sony Xperia Tablet has stereo front facing speakers is IP65 / 68 waterproof waterproof and dust evaluated and supports the excellent Sony noise canceling headphones.
This Is Not a Cheap Tablet but even at the price $ 499.99 I thought as a companion to my Z3 and Sony SmartWatch 3. Rather than buying a waterproof ebook reader to the water I could use to read in the bathtub or at the beach.
Hardware :
The first time I took the Z3 Compact Xperia Sony Tablet (this name is too long) I was immediately impressed by how the tablet is slim. 6.4 mm is less than most phones today. Sony was able to do this on the Covenant Tablet Z3 while the tablet feel pretty solid. It bends a little as you apply force but I never heard any creaking.
The front is all glass the sides are plastic money the corners are made of metal and the back is matte plastic. I tested the white version but there is also a black model available.
There are doors for microSD and microUSB ports that must be closed to maintain the waterproof rating. The volume and Sony typical power button button are on the right with the 3.5mm headphone jack near the top. This Sony headphone jack supports the same noise headphones from the Z3 Xperia SmartPhone which is an impressive device for commuters and those who steal.
The Micro SD card slot and without magnetic wire dock connector are on the left side with the Micro USB port on the lower left side.
There are front speakers positioned just near the top and bottom of the front panel that sound good enough to enjoy movies and music without headphones.
There is a front facing camera on top of the screen on the right side of the name Sony. The rear camera is centered up on the back. I was not impressed with the performance of the rear camera but never use the rear camera on my tablet so it is not a problem for me personally.
I liked the design better than the Nexus 9 and when you consider that you can add a Micro SD Card 128GB while enjoying the best media experience on the Xperia tablet Covenant Z3 it seems that the $ 20 difference in price is worth sentence.

Software:
The Z3 Compact Sony Xperia Tablet comes with Android 4.4 KitKat. Just like the Z3 SmartPhone Sony has a minimal custom user interface so that you get a nearly pure Google Android experience.
Sony additions are made improvements in terms of quick checks widgets and functionality of the application launcher. When you start the device I think Sony puts too much of their own widgets in the face of the user but these can be easily removed as well.
You will find some applications and Sony services like PlayStation Movies Walkman camera modes and Lifelog. The Movies application is a bit pointless since you also have Google Play Movies but Sony offers dishes and it is understandable to see its services available to consumers.
The tablet worked perfectly with games movies music and more. I was able to move quickly from one application and have never seen a delay in the user interface. Parameters were easy to access and manage all customization is also supported.
As The Phone Z3 the Covenant Tablet is great for movies and music. The front facing speakers sound great the noise-canceling headphone jack supports and the screen looks fantastic when watching movies.
I would like to see support for the use of more than one application at a time on the screen as a multi-window on Samsung tablets. Tablets with seven-inch screens or large should have this capacity for better efficiency and utilization.
Pricing and Availability:
The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is available now for $499.99 from the Sony store. This is for the model with 32GB internal storage. You can also find the 16GB international model for about $425 on Amazon if you want to save some money and give up some storage capacity.
Competition:
The Nexus 9 is available for $479 with 32GB internal storage so is priced similarly. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.09 is priced at $250, so may be the best Android option available at a low price. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has higher end specs and is available for $399.99.
The IPad Mini 2 - 32GB model is just $349 while a 16GB IPad Mini 3 is priced at $399. A 64GB IPad Mini 3 Costs $499.
It is interesting to see a couple of these high-end Andoid tablets price exceeds iPads today but there is much more storage capacity when you have the microSD card holder.
Amazon Kindle Fire tablets are very cheap if you really need to decide why you need a tablet. If this is mainly for entertainment then the price of the Sony Xperia Tablet Compact Z3 can be difficult to justify.
Conclusion:
The Z3 Compact Sony Xperia Tablet is a great Android tablet but is likely too high prices $ 80 to $ 100 for mass consumer sales. The audio and video experience is excellent it was a joy to wear such a tablet light and it has just about everything you could want in a tablet.
