Facebook announced Tuesday the addition of a new feature for Facebook groups to make it easier for members of a group "for sale" to the list of their articles. The new feature "Sell", which is now being globally deploy to multiple groups, will allow members to create a position where you can add a description of the item for sale, set a price and set a pick-up or a delivery location.

The social network now already has tens of Millions of Groups based around a variety of interests, and "for sale" groups are one of the most popular categories. In these groups, members are using Facebook as an alternative to something like Craigslist for local sale, or as an alternative to eBay to sell collectibles and other items of general interest, such as books or electronics.

Currently, members of these groups "for sale" typically display photos and text descriptions of their articles, but the addition of the "Sell" function will complement the necessary information a bit more structured than before. This will go a long way to help administrators of the group, who often have to remind members that they are required to list a price, for example, or they need to clarify their general location or neighborhood .

Other group members will also benefit from the addition because they do not need to comment or message to the owner of the object to obtain basic information about the list, which can be the case today when sellers forget to add these important details.

The problem with the old system is that even these kinds of exploratory comments - requests for information - can cause the old post jump up to the top of the Groups, eclipsing the latest ads. It's also frustrating for members who may want to buy items but be aware if the item is nearby, or if it's only available for pick-up, not the delivery.

Also, with the new enhancements, sellers will now be able to mark their messages as "Available" or "Sold", which will help keep the groups and their members better informed about the items are for sale and should be removed. Again, this kind of object management was something that the band members were already doing - often just type in "sold" in the comments section to alert an administrator, or deleting the post as necessary. But now there is a more formal way to describe items as sold.

Sellers will also be able to see their catalog of items sold previously using this function, Facebook notes. This helps individuals as local artisans who sell their products to friends and other community members using the F.B Groups, as is often the case with many women-owned, home-based businesses that are a popular subcategory of "for Sale" F.B Groups.

The new feature "Sell" has already been spotted in the pilot tests in December, and company later confirmed the function was in the works in Facebook Groups select. Now the function globally deployed to several groups on the web, IOS and Android, though Facebook says it will happen slowly over the next few months. ""

Admins group can choose to participate in the first test function by naming their group here.

Unfortunately, for the moment at least, the option for listing items for sale will not be made public following pages, for example, which is where many more professional sales held today to a number of e-commerce retailers of different sizes.

And while "Sell" feature adds more structure to these kinds of groups on Facebook, Product Groups still need a number of improvements. Facebook does not allow even easier for buyers to actually locate interest mobile elements. In fact, do a search on a particular group for a particular item as a "sectional sofa" or "lawn mower" for example, is not possible from newly launched mobile App Facebook for groups - it is only available on the web.

Also, get in touch with members who are selling is always a challenge, as private messages to default inexplicably sellers on "Other" users inbox on Facebook, which is not available in Facebook Messenger, and is quite difficult to find from the moving period. However, as Facebook Groups, particularly those for sales groups have grown to be so popular in spite of these issues, is a testament to how powerful platform Facebook is to connect people.

Facebook says it will continue to add new features that enhance the sale Groups in the coming months that will make it easier for members to connect with each other, browse and search.
